Is this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?
It depends on who you ask.
In Carl Johan Calleman’s interpretation of the ancient Mayan Calendar, the Third Day of the ninth (and final) underworld begins today.
According to a Christian sect, the Rapture starts tomorrow.
Are the two connected?
Carl Calleman just distributed data compiled by Frank Zweers reporting unusual seismic activity today, at the dawn of the Third Day of the Ninth Wave. In this system, the evolution of consciousness accelerates in an alternating wave pattern of 18-day “days” and 18-day “nights.”
Frank discovered the unusual seismic pattern on the first day of the Ninth Wave (March 9), which preceded the big earthquake in Japan on March 11. Now, at the beginning of Third Day (May 20), he’s found a similar pattern. He reports on it in his blog:

Meanwhile, Christian radio minister Harold Camping is in the news for his declaration that May 21 is the beginning of a five-month tribulation that will separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. He predicts a major earthquake in the next few days.
This may be more than a coincidence. There’s also a series of three potent eclipses coming up in June and July, and the electromagnetic shifting associated with eclipses is known to trigger seismic activity on Earth.
I also find it at least a little interesting that Harold’s five-month deadline corresponds within one week to Carl’s calculation of the end-date of the Mayan calendar. Carl says all nine underworlds of the sacred calendar of the Maya of Central America end on October 28, 2011. (This, of course, flies in the face of traditional belief that the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012. And there’s a very high probability that the world’s NOT going to end on any of those dates, anyway. How’s that for confusing?)
What do you believe?
And more importantly, how are you living your life? Do you savor every succulent sensation, relishing the privilege it is to be here, now, as something quite astonishing happens at this unprecedented moment in Earth’s history? Are you excited about this tipping point, the opportunity we have to shift the trajectory of human existence and create a more harmonious, healthy, egalitarian and just society?
The word “rapture” has more than one meaning, by the way. I especially dig this one: A mystical experience in which the spirit is exalted to a knowledge of divine things. This is pretty much the definition of “unity consciousness” that the Ninth Wave is all about.
I’ve been collecting bits and pieces about 2012 and the Mayan calendar for years, and published a book two years ago that’s kind of a primer to the whole thing. It’s called Cosmic Time.

And watch for a new post I’m putting together now about the super-volatile planetary alignments coming up this summer. If you thought the past two years were wild, just wait.
End? Beginning? You decide.
Om shanti.
